It's finally come down to this matchup.
Andy Reid has pretty much taken the league by storm like
propelling a previously next-to-last place 2-14 Chiefs team to 9-0 stardom. With Alex Smith in tow and Dwayne Bowe allowed to play despite speeding and possession charges (celebrating too early
?) contributing to a spread out receiving core, as well as a breakout year from Jamaal Charles (already 1 TD away from tying his career high), the Chiefs have an offense that fits together like a puzzle, along with a defense that's not too dominating, but keeps the opposition at a controllable pace.
However, there's a reason they're not the favorites tonight. Most have their games have had VERY slow starts to teams a typical 9-0 team should be destroying, and that's what Peyton, his already MVP numbers, and the Broncos are counting on. Denver will look for a strong set of opening drives from a complete set of receivers their star veteran QB can
on and some solid runs with Knowshawn Moreno to take advantage of KC's glaring weaknesses coming out of the gate. Their defense with 13 combined picks and 26 sacks will aid in keeping Alex Smith guessing and will seek to keep the Chiefs scoring low. Their biggest concern is keeping Peyton healthy throughout the game to counter a late Chief surge, and not let a repeat of the Indy game happen.
