To sum up:
Cabrera - .360/.454/.670, 34 HRs, best hitter in the world, not so good at defense/baserunning
Trout - .331/.425/.578, 20 HRs, great hitter, great fielder, great baserunner
Things that don't matter include team record, division standing, quality of teammates, "carrying" of team
With all due respect to Chris Davis, who has obviously been awesome, the AL MVP debate will once again be a debate over Cabrera/Trout and Eyes/Stats and OldSchool/SABR. Should be entertaining.
At least there probably won't be any imaginary crowns influencing voters this year
