:russ: at all you youngins, unless someone can correct me i think wrestlemania 7 was the first time wwf tried it.And it was macho/warrior, savage used his finisher about 7x :pachaha: funtimes
Actually, Ultimate Warrior kicked out of Hogans leg drop at Mania VI the year before, even tho it was only one leg drop that was huge considering it was Hogan and on the grandest stage :yeshrug:

I never thought of it before. False finishes are only good for mega matches where you need suspense. They've sort of killed it even though in the heat of the moment it can still cause excitement.

No matter what, there is always that one nikka that wants to credit the topic to Japan :russ:

Well they normally are ahead of US wrestling when it comes to innovation (except moves, I think Lucha takes the credit for most stuff in that department) so it's kinda hard to leave them out of topics like this.

In this case specifically you really can't leave Japan out of this as the evolution their wrestling matches had from 1982 to 1999 had an undeniable influence in all of wrestling. Really, the stuff guys like Maeda, Choshu (and later in decade, Jumbo) did in the 80's was groundbreaking and set the stage for what you now see on TV.

But like a I said in my first post, I think Foley/Austin/Rock were the first to bring that style to the WWF and then guys like Angle and Michaels followed suit :manny:
