There's been a few that I was really rooting for, for whatever reason, whose career and output ended up being disappointing.

Saigon - for a minute there it really seemed like he was gonna blow. The material was there, he was putting out some good sh*t. There was buzz around his name. But if I remember correctly, issues with Atlantic pretty much shelved his album for years and he missed his time. His post-TGSNT stuff isn't that great IMO. Maybe I need to check it again, but it just seemed lazier and without urgency. Didn't do nuthin for me.

Jay Electronica - don't really need to say nothing here. He been out since Bush II was president and still hasn't put out an album.

The Lady of Rage - I don't understand why she managed to only put out one album, right when Death Row was imploding. It got really no promotion and I think it's mostly been forgotten.

L.E.P. Bogus Boys - they disappeared after that Green Lantern mixtape. Weren't they signed to Interscope? Did they break up?

There's a bunch more but these are the ones I think of straight away.

Juelz Santana. Put out two decent albums and showed a ton of potential by stealing the show on some Dipset albums. Then, it seemed like he stopped recording solo shyt to focus on Skull Gang. Never followed through on Can't Feel My Face with Wayne. Had some buzz again in 2009-10 but didn't capitalize on it. It's been 13 years since his last retail album but he's still only 35.
