Why are Africans in places like India associated with "Nigerian drug dealers"

I brought this to the root to avoid b.s. like in TLR so lets please avoid the fukkery.​

Question:

• Is the visa policy different(more lax) for a place like India as opposed to the U.S. ,Canada, U.K etc.?
• Is that simply were the drug connect happens to be?
• It was never Nigerians to start with?

For instance in the "west" I've only heard of "419 scams"(and that could just as easily be people not in the country or not Nigerian at all) but never all this drug stuff.

When ever I look at a (racism / African student attacks) in India report the locals always blame the attacks on kicking drug selling Nigerians out the neighborhood, when the people they attack are usually just students.

Where did this drug seller trope come from?​

From what I understand Nigerians tend to be the biggest representation of African expats globally. Every country someone is talking about experiences with an "African" usually they are referring to Nigerians. My assumption is Nigeria is the most populated country in Africa and of course with the population they have they have a large number of improvised people and due to that you see them bouncing in the largest numbers to go and hustle somewhere else. With that of course you get good and bad people.

Nigerians are known throughout Africa as finessers and hustlers, which is good that it shows they get to the money no matter what but of course bad because many tend to get over on people.

More opportunities for legit income in those countries. In those mention countries other groups already have the dope game on lock so that may be why they (Nigerians) stick to scams vs straight up selling illegal things.

Its extremely unlikely they make up a very significant proportion of drug dealers in a country as big as India. Most Africans I know who've been to India got there on student visas. Its a relatively affordable option for education for many Africans, but most students eventually return home.

Exactly!

I've yet to see a news story of an actual drug hive that was broken up by authorities. It's always students that are attacked. I can see if legit criminals were getting rounded up and some innocents got confused in the mix ...but there are no illegal things going on at all far as I've seen.

Also keep in mind I'm not saying Nigerians are evil nor justifying what the Indians are doing. I'm more so examining what some of the underworld opportunities for them may be overseas.

Pretty good education system. If you can’t afford European or American education it’s a good place to get a degree as they speak English but no way would I stay there full time.

This is what i figure. I think it's a crap country to live in, but you can get a quality education there.

Anecdotally speaking racist Indians are annoying, but they aren't all that intimidating. I never fear for my safety around them.
