I knew the finest half-black, half-latina chick back in high school who was feeling me, but all she posted on MySpace/Facebook was Jesus this, Jesus that, Praise the Lord. I had to tell her . I'm not dealing with that shyt.

Most younger people aren't in Church every Sunday. If you ASK them most will say they believe in God or they're Christian but as far as everyday life not really.

I've dated a lot of black women and none of them were in Church every week or even praying every night before bed. It really wasn't an issue. And for the extreme religious freaks that talk non stop about God you can spot that shyt a mile away so they're easy to avoid.

I was questioning his question. You bolded it. Should I make it more direct and formally and ask: Why are you singling out black women, when close to 85% of this country identifies as christian?

If a mixed race group were leaving a swimming pool area, and someone asked "why are the chinese people wet", when pretty much the whole group is wet and for obviously reasons wouldnt you think it would be a weird question to ask?

Why is 80% Christian tho ?? Is that their decision or their parents decision.. and you keep goin down the line and you know why most black people are Christians...but if they had a choice to make without being shunned by their friends family society or wateva .. I don't think 80 would be the number .. shiiid I don't think 40% of those 80% even do half the shyt "Christians" are supposed to do lol .. Christians are like the most hypocritical people ever.. so imaging tryna get out and they know about it .. lol that's like Malibu's most wanted.. they on some only way out is in a box shyt.. lol

Im not a Christian, so Im probably the wrong person to ask. I would imagine, tho, that having an omnipotent being that looks after you and absolves you of your errors, and one who is in control of an eternal afterlife is quite compelling for most.

I feel like religion and sunday church is just another social event for people. It's more about other people hanging out, socializing around the concept of Jesus than it really is about being "faithful" and actually following God. Like the gesture of church and prayers is more legitimate than ACTUALLY believing in the things you say you're believing in.
