Don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about 100% of doctors, but let's be honest, the idea/view of doctors being such great ppl is outdated.

Maybe 100-200 years ago doctors were great people who helped ppl sick in distress when they could afford to. Nowadays, if you don't have some type of insurance or healthcare, you're screwed, and most doctors could care less. They could be your personal doctor for years or seeing you thru an issue, but lose your job insurance, and majority will be like, "sorry, can't help you anymore" :manny: And then go hit the golf course or go to a 5-star dinner with a representative of some new drug they want them to push.

You could see your personal doctor at the grocery store & tell him a symptom, and he/she won't do anything but say, "make an appointment with me..." aka, let me get that $300 payment for just looking at you for 10 mins :shaq:, and then tell you to come back again for a re-up...i mean follow up in a few days. :shaq:

Some may listen to you or advise you on the spot, but I'm just speaking in general.

Again, not saying most doctors are bad people with ill intentions, but the big money med systems eff everything up to where the doctors basically become an extension of it.

Thoughts?

i think you are more upset with our healthcare system than with actual doctors.

well, it's a little of both obviously.

But doctors, at the end of the day can do much of what they want to do. So they could decide to help someone aside from it being official, like an old school "house call". Sure, there may potential for some liability issues if they do too much outside of their office. But just in general, helping ppl off the record, most will never do.

I mean if they're at a restaurant and somoene passes out or has a heart attack or something, sure they may act in that situation. But hell, anybody there, doctor or not, would try to help.

Its a job to them too.

to many that's all it is. And they do it just for the money.

Society thing where worship is thrown upon people with titles and labels.....People do it with lawyers, doctors, and so on. Many of the doctors I've known, or known of, are hard right wing Republicans, who could have a fukk less about any community but their own, they live in exclusive gated communities, they are pretty reprehensible, in all honesty. A friend of mine who grew up with me, his family kinda raised me, we haven't spoke much in 10 years or so, he went to med school, and I was in the streets, I can see him being similar, it's not like he's a malicious person, they are just seeing the world from only two angles, the comforts their profession provides them, and their profession. His Dad was a doctor too, though, and I can say I really looked up to him, and he wasn't like that, generous with his money and really cared about people, though very much consumed with personal issues, and he lost his practice. In short, judge people on their character, and not their status, money, title, looks....
