You could say the same thing about North America. Some places in North America look like a third world country

fukk outta here with that, I couldn't even fit my damn mattress up most of the houses in the UK :camby:

Houses in UK were terrible and i was tired of living in a HOUSE, MIND YOU A fukkING HOUSE, where I can hear the damn neighbors on the other side of the wall.

And not having closets :mjlol:

Unless you live in the countryside you most probably live side by side, over and under, cheek to jowel next to someone.

In the UK you cannot buy a piece of land and build a house just like that. You have to consider if the land is greenbelt or brownbelt land. You cannot build on greenbelt. The next thing to think about is whether or not the place is in a conservation area. If it is and your house doesn't go with the local aesthetic the council can demand you change it or get your house knocked down. Also getting planning permission to build is a long expensive process that doesn't guarantee that you can build.

Spent some time in London and Cornwall this September, I would say the architecture is better than at least San Diego in every way, from the ultra lux condos, to the country homes, to the brownstones in Notting Hill, not to mention the sea side estates.
