Why are majority of HBCUs discovered/founded by whites?

Wesleyan theology, otherwise known as Wesleyan–Arminian theology, or Methodist theology, is a theological tradition in Protestant Christianity based upon the ministry of the 18th-century evangelicalreformer brothers John Wesley and Charles Wesley.

So the AME is based offed these two cac? That’s crazy
All Christian Churches, except the Ethiopian Church and possibly the Greek Church, are based off of the Roman Catholic Church. So what is your point? If you are protestant you are basically protesting the Roman Catholic Church and the Pope.

My point was the African Methodist Church was independent.

My point was to point out that the rabbit hole leads to two white men’s philosophy about God. As a black man that’s scary as fukk. And no black person should have any part of those cac denominations you named to. How was they independent when their entire denomination is based off 2 cacs. They should have just threw away that whole AME bullshyt and built the school.

The main reason that philanthropic White people gave money to HBCUs was to garner votes for the Republican Party. People have to remember that rich so called liberal White people and recently freed Black men that had gotten the right to vote under the 15th amendment in 1870 were the heart and soul of the Republican Party. Both groups along with Black women eventually switched to the Democratic Party, but their origins were in the Republican Party.
As somebody else said Reconstruction is the most interesting period in American history (and the 60’s). And you only learn about it in AP history or college level classes.

The four-hundred thousand
I’m not “mad” I’m just somewhat disappointed that many of these schools were founded by whites. I had a lot of pride in HBCUS because I thought it was something we specifically built for ourselves
We specifically demanded them for ourselves and got them to put their money up. Nothing disappointing about that.

In fact, the reason the south started compulsory public education for all is because we demanded it be provided, as we argued that it was a basic human right. Poor white kids can thank our ancestors for that.

There's a reason why these HBCUs don't teach real black education about getting ahead, owning your communities, inviting speakers like Claude Anderson or Neely Fuller to speak or teach classes...

I mean sure... you might feel more comfortable around ppl who have a cultural connection...but do you really learn systems and processes? It's more like helping you to get a job. Many black lawyers have come from HBCUs tho
I mean… if I’m not mistaken… I don’t think Malcolm X ever spoke at an HBCU, but he did speak at white institutions…. Did HBCUs not want to indoctrinate blk students with Malcolm’s rhetoric? 🤔 true blk empowerment? But rather to be good employees for whitey??!
