Why Are Old School Games So Addictive?

i fired up the sega genesis and popped in pat riley basketball. i probbly havnt played this game in over 20 years.

the intro gave me nostalgic chills but once i tipped off, i was thinking like "man this is some prehistoric mess".

then a couple minutes in, i was hooked and didnt want to put the sticks down.

It's because games back then were about the gameplay more so than aesthetics. You have a lot of these games with insane graphics but shytty ass gameplay, might as well be playing a movie.

Lots of old games are more challenging and simpler controls. Just jump and shoot instead of all this other bullshyt that you can forget if its been a long time. Ya boy fukkin up tho.

Agree! Companies actually put effort into make games,now games are basically imports of the previous year with a few small "changes" here and there.

Capcom have a long history of fukkery. But at least they provide great games back then.

How about the release of Resident Evil?

Want to see the uncensored intro and different enemy/item placement? Buy Director's Cut (which didn't even have the uncensored one )

Want to play on Analog controller? Buy the Dual Shock edition

old school games like pac-man (yes, i said pac-man) Super Mario Bros., Contra, etc...they kept your attention ever second of the game.

every second.
if you slipped up and thought everything was cool then you would die.

today you can fukk around in bushes and look at birds fly around and nothing will happen.
if something does happen then you just start from the last save...not the beginning of the game.

1 or 2 games. I know Va was in it because I live in VA. But they wasn't that good, so I would have to defer to Miami while my boy would use whatever powerhouse he liked to roll wit

All them shyts was trial and error. Wasn't multiple ways to beat shyt. so either you won or you lost.
