Because it comes as weird
like Louis CK fetishizing the n word
it’s just weird and odd.
Yeah. I like Louis CK and he can make good jokes about different races which are funny, but he’s like Quentin Tarantino with the n-word: they both use it gratuitously because they think they have a pass and can get away with it.
Someone like Bill Burr can make jokes about black people because it’s not coming from a place of maliciousness and it’s obvious he has grown up/fraternized around black people/culture. That’s why he can kill in black rooms and not pander. He can make an observation without it being uninformed. Same with Russell Peters, he grew up around black people so he can make “black jokes” without it being malicious.
But most of these white comedians have grown up in their own white cultural enclaves. So their only black experience comes from the media, hence why they make hacky jokes. “What’s up with black people a rims? Why do you have to have 24 inch rims?”
There’s a reason why Kevin Hart, Dave Chappelle, Russell Peters and Chris Rock are the top 5 grossing comedians WORLD WIDE… because their humor extends beyond black culture… they’ve learned to make humor relatable to all cultures. Most white comedians don’t because they have no real incentive to do so commercially.
