I love Big Sean but he misfired on this album (HOF).The album is terrible. I went in thinking that this album would be Detriot pt.2 as far as growth and story telling. 2 chainz is another one. Why are you switching up your production and sound. Meek mill is another one. I dont geeeet it. French montana did it on his album also. We want Harry fraud bruh

I feel what you saying, but in my opinion this garbage music that's betting put out is because these nikkas all want to be somebody they're not. Hiphop would have more versatility if everybody didn't think they Big Meech, Larry Hoover.....

Easy,

Albums are meant to meet a budget and expectations of the people you work for.

In order to achieve this you have to expand your fanbase.

You expand your fanbase by trying to make music that more people like outside of your core

The content is another topic. People love tru religion from 2 chainz. Now he is making cliche trap muzik. I expect more from these rappers.

I understand the business aspect. The Label want their money making singles. They gave them that. Now explain why milf is on a deep album. Dude need to stick to his lane. Wale stick to his lane. I dont need wale to sell 2x plat. The music he makes will result in a gold palque. Ross wont ever sell 2x because he makes urban music. He wont have skylar gray on his single.

Losing your core is one of the worst mistakes you can make and it can damage your career almost on a permanent level. You honestly think french "expanded" his fanbase? I sincerely doubt it.

The problem with these albums is that they arent cohesive. Fat Joe isnt the greatest MC but if you look at his first two albums, darkside vols etc they are albums with great themes.

These guys exchange cohesive themes for an album full of "hits" that feel very disposable. Some guys are able to get away with this on name alone (look at jay z, who lets be real, hasnt had a really good album since american gangster).

I disagree about the jayz shyt but i agree otherwise. Wale was on IG arguing with dudes about the gifted vs attention deficit. They dont feeling the new wale. Those are dumb fans. Wale got better and both albums with MMG are fire. Big sean wriitng skills improved a whole lot on detroit. His flow improved as well. Now im listenign to HOF like where are the flows and writing skills at.

RBK im not gonna argue with you about jigga but my point is cohesiveness is the problem with majority of the albums that come out. thats why mixtapes are often better than albums because mixtapes have a theme, even rappers i think are garbage sometimes can pull a good mixtape out of their ass because of great themes that come with them. also since they are working on a shytty budget they are forced to use guys they know and have chemistry with. either way thats my point.

I agree! You have to make album for the core fans. Why aim for pitbull and flo rida fans who are fickle fukks

you have no idea how much rappers feel themselves when they get on that fukking billboard.

its like this.

a boxing match, guy stun a guy, you knock him down, you feel like you are gonna get the KO when he gets back up. you start throwing haymakers instead of setting up the knockout, and instead you get caught and knocked out yourself. this happens alot. its the same deal, artists forget what got them where they were, by the time they realize it its too fukking late.
