Why are some people so afraid of rejection?

I never got why some people are so paralyzed by fear when it comes to someone of the opposite sex rejecting them.

It happens to everyone. I’m a fairly good looking dude and have been rejected tons of times. It’s part of the game especially if it’s a cold approach there could be tons of reasons why he or she didn’t give you a number which could have nothing to do with you.

Real crushing rejection to me is someone leaving you after a long relationship for who you are after you’ve bonded and grown to love them.

Asking for a strangers number you just met and don’t know anything about is not real soul crushing rejection to me like that is

It's just a personality thing I guess, I've struggled with it my entire life

Haven't even been rejected very many times (I could count on one hand), but I know I've missed out on tons of opportunities because I was hesitant to shoot my shot. Part of it is not wanting to be humiliated in public I guess.



If you've never had that issue count yourself as fortunate many men do.
