Why are sweet potato yams so damn good?

I just had some a while ago and gotdamn I forgot how good they taste.

I swear if someone made a pot of them I would devour the entire pot by myself with my skinny on the outside but fat on the inside having ass

Candied yams are actually Sweet Potatos. I dont think Americans actually eat yam. I’m interested to know the name stuck especially with the Africans that were brought here knowing the difference between the two. I assume it was a mishap in the english translation of associating those things to english words.
