I dont understand. Even with Rondo they get the same way in the second half of games. Is it age? Lack of a superstar? Coaching? My bball isn't as high as I would like it to be so I'd like some sound opinions on this matter.
Why are the Celtics so woefully inefficient on offense?

Their best players all get their points mostly from jumpshots, and they don't shoot free throws often enough.

Theyve been like this before this year as well, its always been the defense that has carried them. They lost the finals in 2010 because they grew offensively stagnant. So my question still stands.

Rondo was the only point guard on the roster. The only players left on the roster are jump shooters who can't create their own offense. Pierce has lost a step and can't drive down the lane like he used to, KG needs a PG that can play the pick and roll to get his shots and Jason Terry is bum status.

They were even worse offensively last year and has been bad / mediocre during the whole KG era. Defense has been carrying them and now that that has slightly dropped off it makes a huge difference.

No one creating their own shot
No real point guard (We dont have any real ball handler, Avery cant dribble)
No real center
No offensive rebounding (we are really missing Sullinger)
Jumper shooters that cant hit shots consistently
Offensively its a recipe for disaster, we've been playing struggle ball all year. Were too dependent on our defense making our offense. It started before Rondo went down but it caught up to us hard right before the playoffs started

Well the knick are a Better team and the celtics lack a pg. but mostly the Knicks are better and we played this 6 times so far this year

Pierce and KG are a combined 100-years old.. what do you expect? As a Celtics fan I did not expect much from this series. I feel they will play tough at home and give everything they have but I'm not sure it will be enough. KG and Pierce cannot will this team anymore for 40+ minutes. Green is inconsistent. Terry is trash. They can't score in the second half because they don't have the legs nor the offensive talent..
This is one of those things that happens when you don't have a superstar and has haunted the C's in the playoffs the last few years
man when Celtics signed Terry, who wouldve predicted dude would play this garbage

Doc might need an offensive minded assistant coach. I feel we play helter skelter out there.
. Its not complicated. Them nikkas are old. It happens to the best of them.
