This is what i understand from the deal, let me know if im wrong.

For years Iran is known to be making nuclear weapons, in so we have put sanctions up agianst them... not just us but many countries in the west.... now with the new deal we can go in and make sure they are not making nuclear weapons and in doing so the sanctions get lifted.

sounds good and fair to me right?... also gas prices are going to drop cuz of this too right?

Its politican posturing to make people in fly-over states feel like they're being listened to.

Everyone supports the deal on back-channels.

from what i read China, France, Germany, Russia, and the UK), along with a representative of the European Union, collectively known as the E3/EU+3, all agreed and signed.

the republicans seem to always bytch and complain... there always scared and paranoid about something too.

1. I support intervention when the USA has interests at hand and I think the GOP is worried that we lose our leverage by not ramping up the violent talk. But in this case diplomacy might be worth trying out. I'm not as peaceful as most as HL is. I think the world needs to fear the US as much as it has in the past and I don't think many understand the implications of a world that doesn't fear the US and haven't acknowledged what it has meant to live in such a world. They've taken it for granted.

2. Most politicians when it comes to geopolitics fall in line. Domestic policy is one thing, but when it comes to geopolitics we're all on the same side. So with respect to this deal, we'll all fall in line since we all get judged by the rest of the world on this deal

Well I think the Right will make anything out to be a loss for Obama. From what I've read it seems pretty solid and if things go south the sanctions go back in place and they'll probably have their facilities bombed at the least. There are US citizens held and some thought be held there still but it would have been a distraction and really isn't anything you should hinge or leverage onto a deal about nuclear proliferation, imo. I obviously feel horrible for their families and think the US should do everything possible to get them back.

i see what u mean... i just think by isolating iran and starving them out like the republicans seem to want can be dangerous... with this deal we have control over there nuclear power and would be more certain that nukes dont fall in the hands of terrorists.

The Republicans are against the Iran deal because it will be seen as a win for Obama and the Dems and in this goofy game of US politics one side can never happily co-sign an accomplishment from the other side unless it involves both sides getting paid.
