The Gamecube games were always fun and they did stuff that the newer games still don't do correctly. Wrestlemania X8 was the 1st game to actually do the HIAC match the right way, and that was by having the cell big enough to where you could actually fight on the outside of the ring. Yukes also had the perfect control scheme that made the game easy to play. Day of Reckoning 2 is still one of the best games WWE games when it comes to graphics & gameplay.

The GC games were the spiritual successors to WrestleMania 2000 and No Mercy. Same control scheme and features.

Day of Reckoning 2 got on my nerves with the overzealous AI though. Tag matches in story mode were impossible cuz the computer's partner would run in and attack you every time you did a grapple move :stopitslime:

Because of the stigma that all wrestling games had that weren’t on the PS2. Too many people were burned by those trash ass Xbox/Dreamcast games. And I don’t think many ppl even had a GameCube than. A complete drop off from the N64. Nintendo just refused to embrace full CD roms and had no online play/entertainment factor

Breh that reminds me of the 4 way cage match at Summerslam that was nearly impossible to beat :francis: I remember saying fukk it after countless tries before finally coming back to it like a year later and winning. The AI on that game was next level

Yup, that was the worst one. Took me a couple weeks to finally get past that

I enjoyed them. The physics were kinda wonky but I enjoyed them and honestly they aged way better No Mercy.
