yup
you look at Carti's first two projects and there's only 1 maybe 2 producer credits on most of those songs

Same with GKMC mostly 1 producer is credited

now there's like 10 people credited for 1 beat on most of these albums :dahell:

Always has been like that but back then the big producers would be highlighted. If you checked the credits on the booklets they showed everyone that works on it. They just now getting recognition

This is far different from how it used to be. Production credits used to look like this even with more than one producer.

Lost Ones
(S. Carter, A. Young, M. Batson, C. Michelle)
Produced by Dr. Dre
Co-produced by Mark Batson
All keyboards Mark Batson

Today, there will be 4-5 producers credited as the producer and 4-5 others credited as a co-producer.

Also, it needs to be said that another thing that contributes is that artists these days are combining one or more songs into one song. A lot of these songs with beat switches are actually one or more songs joined together. In the past, a beat switch was just that: a change up in the beat. Jay Z's "A Million and One Questions/Rhyme No More" is an example where we got a two for one deal in the 90's where those were two songs combined and not just a beat switch.
