Absolutely nobody thought I'd ever get clean or become independent. I went on online support systems, and "researched" solutions for years; and only got sicker. My addiction progressed, and I fought recovery because my knowledge from the net was more sufficient. I started to sober up and change, and left the internet use to a minimum (did OD on thecoli for a second). I'm in school and I get good leads on good paying union jobs with great benefits like nothing (in case I want to give up on school or just change my mind like I always do). Funding for school was solved by asking questions and researching in the library. Making money comes easy, thought it's very little. None of this was possible searching the web.

I believe you can't get help hiding behind a screen and that healing doesn't happen in a vacuum. There's a lot of mis-information on the internet. Sometimes it's too much info. It's false hope. Socially, it's become a place or bitterness, negativity, and intolerance. Yet I'm being told I have to put up a Facebook and Linked or else it puts up red flags. Everyone my age is dating on the net now? I really don't want no part of it.

I still go on message boards on occasions just to read people's experiences, but it's scary how many people are suffering in this world thinking the internet has practical, healthy solutions for things like housing, HIV complications, Mental Illness, Drug Addiction, or common health ailments. People Crowfunding over messes they made instead of getting out of their hole themselves. I know people who'v done online school for web based jobs and it went nowhere. Even if you don't have a life-threatening destructive vice, there's "normal" I saw on Facebook putting some real dirty laundry on Facebook like nothing. People out and about claiming they Living life and having a good time, but feel the need to broadcast it on social media.
