because everyone wants to flip the script these days. "if you can do it, i can do it too!!" Everyone wants to 1up eachother. It's also because no one wants to be caught while they're compromised and so the best way to have complete control over what they project is to do it to themselves before someone else does it to them. That way they control the exact circumstances and angle in which their dirt comes out.

We're all scared shytless of feeling shame so we like to pretend like we have no shame because to us that's the definition of "keeping it real" supposedly. makes us feel empowered for a while. it's like a false "ego death". But what we need to realize is that keeping it real 100% also means recognizing your shame and not pretending like you don't care about it.
