WHY ARE WOMEN SO QUICK TO LEAVE?

I was with my parents the other day, and they were getting at each other, pops making slick remarks, mom coming back but them being an older couple it was all good, but my mom spoke to me and said you see that, if you speak to a woman like that nowadays, they're quick to leave you/divorce/ you. Citing reasons like they don't feel loved and all that other hoopla. Is marriage that much of a joke that it's that quick and easy to get up and leave? The reason I say women in the title is because studies have shown it is women that initiated the divorces.

I dunno....i think the whole 'greed is good', 'its all about you, and nobody else', American culture has encouraged a social selfishness that has expressed itself in many ways. Our divorce rates are one of those expressions. We're not a culture that promotes loyalty, unconditional love, thoughtfulness etc...its all about ego, self gratification, and money.

There's no reason to stay. Back then, women were dependent on men so leaving would mean you were more than likely gonna end up homeless and hungry. Now, women no longer need men so we can leave whenever we want and be just fine.

Another problem is that couples aren't spending enough time together before they get married. Men need to stop letting women pressure them in to proposing, don't marry until you're damn good and ready. IMO a couple needs ATLEAST 4 years together before they think about marriage and ATLEAST 1 of those years needs to be cohabitating. I know there's exceptions to this, but again, THEY ARE THE EXCEPTION, NOT THE RULE.

I have this feeling that the point was to make marriage, a big joke. The commitment, being loyal to a person has thrown out the window in this instant happiness place we live in.

I think people in general are more quick to leave, people don't work things out anymore. Divorce is so accepted. I don't think people realize what a marriage is it is not about being happy 100% of the time. If you think that don't get married.

Seems like people don't want to fight that good fight, rather leave and find something where there's less hassle, which doesn't bode well in fruits (of the labor)

women are quicker to leave because they don't see the benefit in staying. this is partly because they view "benefit" in a shorter "scope" and partly because a lot of men aren't providing a percieved benefit to the women (this is also related about what juicy said regarding women not being as dependant financially on men)

They don't and people are so full of themselves. Half the time they leave because they think someone else is better and go right to the same problems. Or they are the problem and should have been happy someone wanted them.

when a guy falls in love it tends to be very deep and long lasting. Women's affections however can be a bit more fleeting.

Both parties need to communicate more but when women do you hear a collective "sigh" about it and jokes are made about it in media. But on the real communication is what keeps this shyt from happening. Don't let your woman leave you in the dark about how she's feeling, don't let your man leave you in the dark about how he's feeling. That's how hate and frustration builds up. Put that shyt on the table, squash it. I think more women are prone to leaving because they constantly have gentleman callers.

women have so many options..they NO LONGER see men as the SECURITY BLANKET they once needed

especially with the EXTORTIVE CHILD SUPPORT LAWS and EQUAL PAY and SUGAR DADDIES and TRICK DUDES...

They don't VALUE marriage anymore
