real talk you can save a lot of money that way over time, the only people i really seeing using coupons is the middle age women (ie 40 and over). What made me think about this is because I just checked my mail and Im always getting coupons from subway (i place i eat at atleast 2-3 times a month) and other places but i just toss them

I think from a man's perspective no guy wants to be caught using coupons at a food or grocery joint. Im I right or wrong?

why did I think the title said condoms? :mindblown:

I grew up watching my mom use coupons on everything. I do the same when it's available.

Why give any corporation any extra money?

Because when you're young and start whipping out coupons you look like a tightwad who's low on cash. If you're out with the guys or if you're on a date you'll whip it out, someone will make an awkward comment about how responsible and frugal you are, and you'll save 10% or whatever on your outing. Problem is, people don't really respect that internally, even though it makes tons of sense because you'll create the impression that you need coupons if you use them or that you're such a boring tightwad that it'll be a struggle to get you to part with your money wherever you decide to go during your time out.

:whoa: I personally have no problem with it, just saying that that's the case.

I'm shameless when it comes to coupons, I make a list of things I want to buy and see if any stores have coupons for them. It adds up.

I have no problem busting out my groupon app on my phone for the waiter.

However, when it comes to groceries, as a single person, it doesn't really work out for me. I always forget to bring along the coupon with me, and when I do, the savings are so tiny at the end of the bill, it wouldn't be substantial savings each month. I could see how family grocery shopping would yield savings tho.

I have a co-worker that does a lot of Sunday newspaper clippings, and ends up getting $200 of groceries for $10 because she buys in bulk and doubles up on the coupons. It is usually of things in season or already discounted. I don't have room in my apartment to store 20 packets of toilet paper and 30 cans of green beans like her- she has a stock pile room.

I slid her a few dollars a year ago to build up a small stash of toothpaste, soap, and some non-perishables, and I still haven't used them up.

Per the bolded- exactly! and the stuff I end up replacing the most- eggs, milk, bread, ect. are NEVER on sale and NEVER have coupons.

To me coupons are good if you have a family or are trying to stock pile up on nonperishables, toilet paper, ect.

thing is a lot of coupons last for months and every once in awhile you see coupons for thing you actually use all you have to do is save them

I see all the benefits of coupons and my mother uses them but for some reason I never think about it when I go

we recently ate some McDonalds and then I remember we had a booklet filled with free sandwiches and buy one get one free coupons
