It's a long story
See what happened is that one day all mixtape rappers were in the same room
And a chic came and and started massaging her breasts and the sonic boom created by everyone's eyelid hitting their eyebrow at the same time destroyed the 320kbps technology.

An unknown rapper called Kid Wave caught the chic with his iphone doing what she was doing.

Mixtapes are digital, which means they come in MP3's which are compressed. Compressed audio means its limited to a certain number of frequencies. Unless the mixtape was released by the artist themselves on a CD (CD's aren't compressed), there are no 320kbps mixtapes.

It don't matter if its .wav or .flac, you could "convert" a 195 kbps file to a 320, the audio quality is still the same. They would just be lying to you. Matter of fact, when you do that, the quality gets even worse

not exactly.

the mixdown from a DAW should be in WAV format initially which is lossless. From the WAV, you could compress to an mp3 at 320kps or 192kps. The reason most do 192 is because it results in a smaller file but still maintains a decent amount of the frequencies plus the average person can't tell the difference. It's less of an issue NOW because of increase in broadband speed over the years but people still tend to compress to 192
