Seems like we reached our peak back in the early 1900's when it comes to inventing athletic sports games.

For this discussion im strictly focussing on sports involving balls and pucks (no-homo). WHen you look at the time line

  • Field hockey goes way back 2,000 B.C. if im not mistaken
  • Football (aka Soccer) can be traced back to damn near the year 200 (A.D.) and evolved over time into the current form
  • Tennis has been around since early 13th century and evolved over time
  • Ice Hockey can be traced back to the early 1700s
  • American football (which evolved from rugby football) came about in the 1880's
  • Basketball was introduced around late 1890's to early 1900's
  • Volleyball, my 2nd favorite sport, came about in the early 1900's

Harlem
basketball is still pretty new relatively speaking,
100 years isn't the long a time.
it's still growing in other parts of the world.
