I don't know what the hell you're talking about. At all.
Are you also out here talking to the ones on the corners?
I plan on engaging in traditional organizing, so yes.
What are we doin', beside internet posts?
Again, I'm organizing on a ground level as well. Social media and the internet are just tools to help this expand on a national level. I'm really glad somebody out there finally responded on this forum.
I'm not going to fight for nikkas that smoke their crack, and brehs that move that dope.
Put down the pipe and/or stop pumping that heroin and you wouldn't fall victim to the game
This is an extremely shallow way of thinking. First and foremost, whether or not you "pick up the pipe" or "pump heroin" shouldn't play
any role in whether or not you're pursued and labeled a criminal. Had prohibition continued, then I could easily say the same about you (most likely) and the aggressive marketing we see nowadays to pick up the bottle. Second of all, studies show that blacks and whites use drugs on the same level roughly; despite the large difference in representation in our population, black and hispanics represent the majority of prosions. This is the result of blatant
targeting, not personal choices. To support that notion is to support the systematic attack that has kept minorities down for the past 30 years.
Put good jobs in the hood and there wouldn't be any dope in the arms or crack in the pipes.
Put good schools in the hood so that nikkaz can get good jobs.
Prosecute White affluent people who make up the MAJORITY of heroin/crack/cocaine users the same way you prosecute Black ones and I bet you'll see the laws change.
Who is going to fill those jobs when police presence is pervasive and destroys the likelihood of any well paying job? You're making the point for me to some extent. On what grounds is the disparity in powder cocaine and crack-cocaine (for example) justified? They're chemically the same drug, the only difference is the populations that have traditionally used them. We've gone from 100:1 to 18:1 ratio in severity of punishment, but that's still ridiculous and unjustified.
breh...
i and others i know grew up in the hood and have managed to both avoid jail and crack....at some point people have to take responsibility for their actions and lives
sure im aware that disadvantages exist....but cats do have choices
Are you dead yet? 1 in 3 black men will face prison time at some point in your lifetime. If you're on a stable path, then be thankful for that, but don't mistake that as meaning your peers were somehow granted the same opportunity. Somebody else mentioned that America is only 3% of the world's population, yet 25% of the world's prison population... the percentage is actually about 5%, but the fact remains that no one on Earth locks up their civilians like we do. And we when we do, they strangely seem to be minorities. Something is seriously wrong here.
