If I picked up the game today what are the chances of me being able to compete for millions?

Honestly, you'll be legitimately horrible and basically worthless at this game for the first 3 months. You will not be having fun while everyone else is getting kills and you'll wonder what the attraction is for this game.

Then you'll start to recognize characters, their abilities, their types, their strengths and weaknesses and you will suck slightly less. By now you will have chosen a "main" and you will roll with that character more than others. You won't be completely worthless, but you're still not really very effective. You'll probably stay at this level for another 3-4 months.

Then you'll start to understand what's really going on, what the objectives really are, the meta game, the synergies, the strategies, etc. You'll be here for about a year, and once you get to the end of this phase is when you'll be actually "competent" at the game.

So after a year and a half, you'll be at a level where you can go into a match and not embarrass yourself. After that, you're probably at six months to a year away from being legitimately "good", and probably another year to reach a "competitive" level.

dude making millions off of this game the same ways dudes be making millions off of starcraft. You have to dedicate your life to this shyt and even then there's a big chance you wont make anything off of it.

The problem is that PC gamers make newcomers to games like this feel very unwelcome. Once people find out you are new they harass the shyt out of you for sucking and then kick you off the game/server. They aren't going to try and teach you shyt or help you get accustomed to the game.

In a game like this where the learning curve is already steep as fukk being harassed every step of the way isnt the way to get casuals to jump in. And unlike most games, when you getting your ass kicked in a MOBA there isn't any fun to be had. At least in Halo I can suck but still have fun messing around and getting absurd random kills.

So I'm playing a game for a year and a half, I'm horrible, getting shat on and harassed, and few people are trying to help me. Why do I want any part of that?
