Wherever whores go.....
I'm looking at these amazon prices....

Playbar $699
Connect $349
The Sub $699
The Boost ?

Optional
Play 3 Speakers x 2.... $299 Each!!!

$2,349 :damn::mjcry:GODDAM..... I dont have that money to pull this off....

I'm looking for alternatives to not go broke...

You don't need the connect
You need
The PlayBar
sub
Two play ones or play 3s. But the play one should be sufficient for rear speakers

That will give you a 5.1 since the playbar has 7 drivers

You can always just get the Sonos connect.
Hook up ANY amp and front, centre and sub to it.
Then grab two play ones that can connect to that
So then you have wires up front(usually no big deal cuz that's where your equipment is anyway)
Then two wireless play ones to complete the 5.1

That will also give you the flexibility of moving around the play ones to other rooms/ outside for music if you want.

Grab a decent klipsch centre channel, fronts and subs(much cheaper than playbar and Sonos sub) and still almost as good

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
ive heard of sonos... ridiculously expensive but im not looking to fill the whole house just a small room...
Ur not really gonna find a cheap alternative that's worth it...unfortunately..Sonos is ur best bet...fortunately..it does put u in the network so u can just keep adding in the future....start with the playbar and the sub...add the play 1s or play 3's later...

Yea you just need an optical cable and you are good to go.
You setup the whole system on your phone and you can pair them up anyway you want
Stereo, 5.0,5.1,3.1,etc

No receiver needed. Plus you can play your Sirius app, Google music, iTunes,(pretty much any streaming music service) or the music on your phone, iPad or computer.
Not to mention u can access music files on the computer from the sonos app on ur phone or tablet without needing to actually be on the computer..

Nothing wrong with Samsung.
But it's just not in the same class as Sonos.

It's really not I regret not getting the Sonos bar and system when I went looking I just went to the names I knew plus the best buy display blew me away.

Yea those displays are set up with tons of research for that reason.

Bose is good for that. They demand that their displays are set up a certain way to mask their deficiencies

I'm looking at B&W(Bowers & Wilkins) but at best buy it's 399.99 a satellite speaker, then you have to factor in the center speaker and the subwoofer and the receiver.... :whew: quality isn't cheap but lasts a life time....with that said I'll be lucky to have the full system with a sony receiver by next summer

With Sonos you don't need a receiver
