Cause they ain't searching for them anymore. They meaning the record companies

Put yourself in the shoes of a Record label person. Its more of an investment for a Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston type to nurture and push their career

There's like next to 0 investment in artist development for these shytty singers, and easy to replace. And the shytty singers have less power/clout to challenge the Record companies. Win win for them

It's funny to me but, there was a time folks talked about Hip Hop being dead but what they didn't realize was Hip Hop was also killing off other forms of artistry associated with Black folks. Musicianship, ability to play actual instruments, vocal training, and probably a gang of other artistry I'm missing all suffered as a result of Hip Hop's popularity among the youth. Look at a group like NWA and folks immediately think of Dre's production, but forget that DJ Yella was playing drums on that sh!t. They had a white dude Donovan the guitar man. How many producers in Hip Hop are playing real drums nowadays? Or can play a piano? Everything is electronic nowadays and the musicianship is suffering. Probably the same way with vocalists. How many folks are growing up singing in the church nowadays? Not remotely as many as it used to be I imagine.

Lot of people who lack the funds to get a voice coach

lot of young folk don’t mess with the church or aren’t brought up in it so no shot at them getting any training from gospel choir

there’s still some out there, but with everybody making albums in their bedroom these days you gonna have to do a lot of digging.
