Besides Owners need the money too off revenue of the game at the arena. Less games = less money for both owners, players, even the poor arena employee making $11 an hour would suffer if he worked less games.

So exactly who has a vested interest in having a 3 game series, here?

The entire 82 game season can be viewed thru streaks, up & down. a 2 game streak, win or lose is nothing in bball.

The game is about matchups. In the playoffs losses are serious, but you might go down 2-0 and then win 4 outta the next 5 b/c you're the BETTER TEAM.

You go down 1-0 in a 3 game series and you're deep in the hole.
