Chicago is the only major city in Illionis on a level comparable to Maryland, Penn, NY, Cali. I mean I will doubt they will put two teams in a city with less than 2.5 million citizens. New York is the exception they have 8 million people split up in 5 boroughs.

That's if you combined both metro areas. In reality, they are different two metro areas. They have their own tv market, radio market, suburbs, etc. Not the same area. They don't function as one like the Bay Area, DFW, or the Twin Cities. It's not a good comparison.

There is no team that will compete with the Bears in the Chicago area.
