Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson build a multi-million dollar empire within the last couple of years. But things not always looked promising for him.

10 years since
50 Cent got shot nine times outside his grandmother’s house in Queens. To this day still, the story about him getting shot might be one of the biggest myths surrounding Curtis and he still gets asked about it in every other Interview.
The 9 shots left him with injuries to his right hand, arm, hip, both legs, chest and left cheek. But 50 Cent’s mother gave birth to a fighter. And so he did what he does best, fight back. After 13 days in the Hospitel, having his jaw wired-shut for 6 weeks and month of rehabilitation, 50 Cent came back bigger, stronger and angry.
What hurt even more than the gunshot wounds, according to 50 Cent himself, was the fact that he got dropped by Columbia Records after getting shot. At that point 50 Cent wasn’t sure what to do with his life. He had left the crack game behind for the Rapgame to povide for his son. Then his past caught back up.
Police never was able to find out who actually shot 50 Cent, but streets been talking and claiming some guy named
“Hommo” (Hommocide) got paid to do it. About two weeks after 50 Cent got shot, Hommo was found dead. There have been several speculations including
Murder Inc. being involved in 50 Cent getting shot or that Fiddy’s song
“Ghetto Quran” was the reason for the shooting, none of it is proven.

He explained himself all over again in Interviews and still people don’t listen. And even so 50 Cent got shot 9 times, his success doesn’t depend on that fact. Good music doesn’t depend on how many times you have been shot but on talent.
