Yeah, probably something to do with China or Russia. Hell maybe even NK.

Looks like the facility has a clear view of one of our missile test sites and records them and probably does other stuff for the military.


I also read an article recently about hacking and satellites and wonder if it could be connected in anyway.

The observatory is pointing up not out. Someone probably figured out a way to use it to look for satellites and they got evidence it was being used to track the wrong ones.

Honestly, my first thought was that some of the climate deniers use sunspots/solar flares to explain away Global Warming, they created some conspiracy theory that the sunspot scientists were hiding the truth from the public, and somehow got Trump to buy the theory and order a raid.


But ya'alls explanation with the spy stuff is interesting.


It could be nothing though. My wife was working for a defense contractor, one day the guy with the computer just opposite her got taken down by the FBI in the middle of the day. Three agents walked in with jackets covering their badges and dramatically took their jackets off to reveal their badges and arrest him as they walked up on his desk. Turned out he was running some sort of child pornography ring from his work computer. So it could just be some sort of totally unrelated crime like that, though helicopters is damn dramatic.

Something else I noticed in general in the tech sector. Used to be a lot of chinese students coming over to go to school in the US, I hardly see any of them any more in companies. Too many of them sliding through school completely unprepared and selling trade secrets back home.
