why didnt anyone tell me playing music with engine off drains your battery?

went to get new radio fittted today. so im just chilling playing music shyt was all good until i tried to start up my engine and tried to leave

now ive had to abandon my car with a brand new radio in it because none of my friends or family have jump cables
