Why do Americans love pickups so much?

Them shyts be big dog status sometimes they say you can get them loaded. Status symbol shyt. Some use them for the utility, pull a boat, Carey shyt etcThem shyt do nothing but burn gas.....
They come in handy when you own a home or have a family.

u dont wanna be in a gridded metropolitan city with one, having to parallel park (Chi, NYC, Phi) but outside of those tight enclaves pickups are clutch.

I talk about this everyday. What is the obsession with them? In NYC 9/10 of the time you see them it’s usually someone who has it for work or has it because they are often carrying heavy equipment or maybe they use it for tow.
But outside the city you can easily see people who just have it because they love trucks especially down south.
But now that I think of it they do come useful for carrying home equipment so if n had one that sh*t would barely be used haha

they come in handy when you have little bird ass relatives who are always having to move to a cheaper apartment or to live with their new BF. you can throw their air mattress and ikea furniture in the back and take them to the their new beginning
If I had a house in the burbs I could definitely see it being a useful asset.

I rented a UHaul before and drove it to Philly to help my friend move

You can rent a uhual pick up or van for $20 for the two times a year you need to haul something
