SJ was just on the show Undisputed, and he said he would take Kobe over LeBron, and the fact he said it with no hesitation, reservation or thought, and explained why.

It seems like this is the norm......Most of the analysts/experts seem to prefer LeBron's game and everything that comes with it over Kobe. LeBron's versatility, his dominance, his court vision and intelligence. The size, the speed.

and when u ask the players....Most will give the answer that Jackson gives in this clip.

LeBron's game is more impactful in a vacuum, but anyone who's played basketball can tell you how important using productive emotions and being able to execute on the floor is, so I'm guessing players think Kobe would execute better in a real game.

We've seen how LeBron plays when pushed to the brink, but he only goes to that place when he knows that his legacy/image is on the line and that he must absolutely win to save it.

Because when you look at things objectively you get a clearer picture of the truth.

Kobe mainly makes people feel a certain way because his game was 100% ripped from Michael Jordan. And that's really who they're admiring and being inspired by. Not Kobe. They just can't admit it to themselves.

Honestly it's because Lebron puts up better looking stats. He's not chucking the ball up 30 times a game, he's passing and rebounding and playing defense. Even 4-13 looks better than than say Kobe being 8 for 21. So stat wise he's more impressive.

But anybody who has every played the game knows there are qualities that can't be measured by stats. AN Kobe has that KILLER instinct that Lebron doesn't. That competitive nature, that fire. It can't be taught, you can't train someone to want to rip your heart out on the court. You can't train that level of competitiveness that made Jordan and Kobe better. And people who never played or coached don't understand things that cannot be measured in stats.

And honestly Lebron is the perfect example of how mental the game of basketball is because Lebron is a better athlete physically than Jordan or Kobe. He's faster, stronger, quicker. There is no reason at all he shouldn't be better than Kobe or Jordan but he does not have that Killer in him which holds him back.

Kobe busted a lot of those player's ass before he retired and the others who are in the league now grew up legit idolizing Kobe or view LeBron as a peer so they definitely not gonna say he better than Kobe.

Older players are even more on Kobe's side. Just look at what Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, and Charles Barkley have said.

And Kobe's peers like Dirk and Stephen Jackson and Billups still take him over LeBron.

This idea it's just young players who grew up idolozing him or guys who are Lebron's competitors and that don't want to give him credit is just wrong.

ALMOST ALL PLAYERS favor Kobe over LeBron. There is no difference based on age or whether they are playing in the league now.

That whole killer instinct is such a bunch of overrated bullshyt masquerading as really little more than arrogance and greed.

If a player makes a pass out of double coverage to an open player to hit a big shot, people accuse that of somehow folding under pressure or not having a killer instinct or not being clutch.

There have been countless studies and analyses on things like that (that clutch argument) and every one of them has found it to be a false notion. Numbers tend to even out over larger sample sizes. But because all people do is remember and elevate individual moments, we get these false narratives.

Don't misunderstand. That's not to say that big moments don't exist. But the idea that any given player has some special gift for those moments is just not true. Over time...with a larger sample, they perform in line with how they always do.

Pretty much this.

Basketball players actually know the game so they see beyond stats. The media and public at large are ignorant about the game so they use stats as a shortcut to understanding the game.

As a pure basketball player, Kobe is clearly better than LeBron. LeBron just knows how to stuff the stat sheet so he fools the ignorant public.

i agree with all this, but Lebron wasn't faster or more athletic than Jordan. And physically Kobe could finish just about as good as lebron at the rim.

LeBron never even won a dunk contest:mjlol:
