No one on either Fox News or CNN really cares about Politics. They do it because they employed at a TV station like any other job. Whichever station gives them a better salary, they'll leave for the other station. They know fighting back and forth verbally attacking the opposing Political party improves ratings, therefore improves their salary/bonuses
The only people that fall for it are the Voters and the viewers of the News shows. They really get ya'll riled up like Republicans and Democrats aren't two sides of the same coin

License (affiliate) fees, one of two main sources of revenue for the major cable channels, declined slightly in 2020 for all three – down roughly 1%-3% across all. Advertising revenue, these channels’ other main source of revenue, increased in 2020 for all three, with advertising revenue increasing anywhere from 9%-12%.
