Why Do Californians Always Hate On New Yorkers?

anyone else notice that? there's always this weird sibling rivarly between the two states, but I find new yorkers are much more open to admit liking cali than the other way around

back in 09 I stayed in L.A and hung out with my cousins and his friends a lot. the friends would ask where I was from and when I said new york they'd hit me with the 'pssh, new york'. another time me, my cousin, and his friends were hanging out with these chicks in santa cruz and when I had my headphones singing the lyrics to empire state of mind they were were like 'if its so great why don't you go back to new york' it was in a joking kinda way, but still

not only my own experiences, but californians on here and city forums always seem to hate on new york. why is that?

I like people from New York... my best friend is from New York. I've been there, too for a couple weeks with the model UN as an undergraduate. Some beautiful and sophisticated women there and the life that surrounds you there will make your heart race if you're not ready for it.

I think that the Californians that you do meet that are hating on NY are either jealous or they get annoyed if you keep talking about it every other sentence. It's kinda the same as meeting people from Texas. I knew this little blonde in my dorm that talked nonstop about how they "did it in Texas" and how San Diego was lacking in good barbecue, etc.

I mean it's like, yes, of course NY does some stuff better. That's why it's NY. Then again, if we already know, we don't need it pushed in our faces. Not saying that's what you yourself do, but yeah.

Idk. I know females out here love dudes from New York. My friend has a cousin from New York. Every summer they would switch off on visiting each other. Females used to be all over him and his accent. He was scared of Earthquakes. We had him spooked.

I got love for New York (shyt I been 3 times) and know not one person out here who dislikes New York. It gets hella praise.

Well I'm in Raleigh, NC and there are quite a bit of NY transplants here. Ever since College I notice NY heads come down here and many talk about how great it is and how Raleigh ain't shyt compared to it. Of course you are comparing a city with 8 million people to a mid sized city of 250,000 there are is gonna be some lacking. People get irritated with NY people moreso than folks from LA or TExas cuz some NY folks can be a little disrespectful. I've seen a ton of NY nigguz get stomped the fukk out in Durham cuz they think since they from Brooklyn they gonna just come down here and take over the drug game or think everybody is supposed to be on they dikk cuz they from UP TOP!

why the deep-seated hatred? I don't get it. new yorkers don't have that type of hate for cali. most new yorkers love cali but will seldom admit its better than NYC
