I swear there's an anti-NY brigade on here. anything NY related gets hate :dahell:

they try to diminish genuine east coat classics and prop up their own local bullshyt nobody ever heard of as "classic" :dahell:

some clowns on here even believe hip hop originally came from the south in an attempt to diminish NY's influence :dahell:

what's the root of this NY hate? is it just another case of peasants throwing rocks at the throne or what? :pachaha:

South dudes still have a chip on their shoulders from way back when NY wasn't trying to let them in. NY dudes are blinded by their own self aggrandizing & refuse to admit they fell off a cliff & no one wants to hear their sound anymore so throw venom around & try to diminish others.
Honestly, if I were the South I wouldn't take my foot off NY's neck either. You know how they are going to act if they ever get the crown back, so why not kick all the dirt you can on them while their down.

Cause theres a concerted and very contrived effort by newage millennial rap fans to dismiss anything pre-2005, basically anything that happened before they started listening to music must be overrated and outdated because they werent there to experience. NY truly stopped being at the forefront around that time. Also theres a bit of an inferiority complex. The history books always point to NY hiphop as being the most influential and the most lyrical, and theres a very contrived and conscious effort to rewrite the history...not to be more fair and recognize all regions, but to specifically shyt on NY and make less of it

Because the south is so influential, kids are now nostalgic for Three 6 Mafia and UGK and recreate that feel and imagery....instead of Tribe Called Quest and Public Enemy, which has less "cool" currency with modern rap fans

Its a double edged sword tho. NY fans have been traditionally very arrogant and dismissive of other regions so now the chickens come home to roost. Also major media outlets always favored NY contributions as being more legitimate until fairly recently

That's a very good post man damn shame NY get dissed so much every region has lulls NY place in hiphop shouldn't get shyt on because it ain't on level it was a decade or 2 ago. Give me some upstart MC's from NY that I should look out for I support all regions I just ain't fukked with a lot of the shyt that's come out in recent years but I'm a fan and am always open for new MC's bringing heat.

If u follow social media and Internet trends and crowds you would be able to forecast that NY rap is going to pop off in a couple of months.

Just go on Dave east IG for instance. Women go crazy for that nikka like he Chris Brown status or something.
