Why do families (non-refugees) move to America?

...they are often coming from an area where their people are the majority (china, india, africa etc) and have pretty decent job prospects after college. Why then do people feel the need to build here in America? College grads from Singapore (shythole for the most part) coming to America for education. Do they ever return back home? College is cheaper back home so why America? Curious..

majority/minority isn't the issue in those countries
usually developing countries have populations that are way too high for everybody get theirs, there's just too much competition
or the economic conditions they came from just couldn't have worked in their favour

I was listening to Whyy radio this morning lol and the competition in India for college is extremely high...about 314 million kids are looking to go to college there and to choose from so many, they are only accepting the students with damn near 100% academic rates....so I'd say the completion is probably less in America

But it's odd, I was just having a convo w this Indian dude at my job about why in their countries they are engineers and contractors etc and then they come to America and get lower skilled jobs..interesting really

Most foreigners send their kids to America to get degrees but majority eventually go back to their home country to work if they cannot get an H1B. There's more opportunity when you expand your horizons so I don't blame them.

And Lol @ Singapore being a shythole. A 1500sf average looking apartment can cost you 10 million USD over there. Those guys have serious money.
