:mindblown: @ these pro athletes needing another man to motivate them to do their jobs. I just don't get it. So if RG3 don't make a great speech dudes on his squad won't run routes properly, block, play D, & make FGs. This leadership sh1t gotta end. And most of all im sick of propping up dudes surrounded by tons of talent labeling them leaders.

Teams need different types of leaders. Sometimes, a player's persona is one of being a follower. They are good at what they do but need a leader for motivation. You are probably the self-motivated type and so, you don't see the need for a leader.

human beings are social creatures, and if you understand psyche, you would understand how external motivation could improve an individual's performance

same reason why some guys get in shape by themselves and others need a personal trainer to make sure they do cheat themselves

Also Organization is the key in large groups, everybody said fukk it I'm gonna do what I do, it would be impossible the group to function has ONE

If it's late in the 4th quarter and you're losing somebody needs to be like fukk it and do what is needed, then get the team involved.

Everybody doesn't have "it" in them

In any setting where a group is working together for a common goal there needs to be a leader.
I'm not saying a team should not have a leader. But I just don't get how grown men can used that as a excuse as to why they didn't do their job. These chumps have families & bills and u mean to tell me Cam body language is the reason u ran the wrong route. I just hate excuses

I'm one of the few who will agree with you.

I don't understand it, either.

But at the end of the day, some ppl are followers and if you're a follower then that points to there being a leader. Sure everyone can use a little motivation from their peers at times, but as far as NEEDING a "leader", I don't understand that mindset.

It's not an excuse...it's reality. Everybody isn't a self-starter. Everybody doesn't hold themselves accountable. You have slackers or guys who do just enough to get by in every other profession...sports in no exception. I agree with your assertion about people getting propped up as leaders purely because they were fortunate to be in the right situation. But there is no denying that leadership is important. Obviously you need talent but leadership can be the difference between underachieving with talent and meeting your potential. Likewise it can be the difference between a team overachieving or just being what we thought they were.
