Why do Home teams rarely wear home Jerseys anymore ?

rocking colors at home/white on the road at times during the regular season is one thing, doing it throughout the playoffs and Finals is still weird to me.


Imagine Mike rocking white in Utah for that last shot or Shaq & Kobe wearing yellow in Sacramento or Wade wearing white in Dallas when he snatched Cubans soul

This is disconcerting, on both sides. That gold shouldn't be seen outside of Staples. Likewise, the C's in anything other than white on the parquet is .

I think it originated because home teams could wash their jerseys, meanwhile road teams on long road trips couldn't, hence them wearing dark jerseys.

But that was obviously a LONG time ago, lol.

One thing I wondered though is why Cleveland even bothers having the wine colored jerseys being their default? They barely wear them at all. They’ve worn dark alternates way more since LeBron came back.

Only in America, and specifically in American sports, do I hear about this thing of having to wear white at home. Y'all write y'all teams names on the field/court, but you still need a white jersey to know who's at home If that's considered a tradition, then it sounds like a dumb tradition to me.
