Currently trying to book a weekend getaway for a trip in February and I had to do a double take when the hotel doubled the price of the room on Saturday from that of Friday. What's the basis behind this?

Um:

- weekends tend to be when more people travel/have time off, so that costs more

- depending on when/where it is, sometimes there are other events in town that make accommodations more in demand. For example - if you're going somewhere in February, it might be around Valentines' Day. Or, let's say where you're going is Charlotte. It's gonna be popping next February ...and you know why.

Oh, well there you go right thurr...

I'm guessing Syracuse? Yeah...ain't chit going on in upstate NY except sporting events like that and random rare chit like...a state fair, or a music festival in the woods. So every place to stay is gonna tax you for coming out of the way.

Can’t say my exact title for .... reasons, but I run rate reports for certain hotels on the east coast.

Brehs that said demand are right. I’m not on the end where the hotels decide the final rate, but I can usually guess when rate spikes will occur without too much checking their internal systems.

Vegas has an insane differential on this. I've seen rooms go for 30 dollars on a Tuesday that go for 200 on a Saturday
