he exploited everybody on his label and gave them shytty deals, overcharged them for production and videos etc. plus, after no way out was released, he was way to focused on promoting himself than his brand and his artists. maybe some of his artists were lazy, but not all of them. they were mostly young and badly educated though, and therefore easy to exploit.

Chingy, J Kwon & DJ Unk had your standard deals, also, keep in mind that its expected for white labels to give black artists shytty deals but someone with as much money as Diddy & resources could really help people out but instead he uses the same "white tactics" on his own people & has made a fortune at others expense...

I used to kinda hate diddy, but I realized that labels sign TONS of artists who don't even get to release singles. much less albums.

Its a tough industry, and he's honestly given life to a lot of careers.

Its a business and if you work with him, you should know what you're getting into.

A lot of those artists may not even fare much better with more "mainstream" labels

read up before you comment.. white label owners weren't chilling with you in the studio, calling you family, saying this is forever... meanwhile coming through your video in their bentley... then charging you an appearance fee and another charge for having that bentley in the video... making you pay a producer out of your budget, coming in at the last minute and adding some strings, then charging you for his "production"... adlibbing your songs, then charging you for the adlibs


there's a list of things he did like this.. that went far and above just "normal" label tactics.. and the only reason he was able to do this is cause his artists weren't educated until they checked the money and found out.. what kind of "family" does that to you
