Here go a quick list of shyt affected by obesity
Obviously a skinny person can die from any of these......but it's scientifically proven being obese can increase the likelihood of you developing these conditions by an order of magnitude. A skinny person having health issues actually means you should be even more urgent to lose weight
It's like telling someone to wear a seat belt and people bring up the fact sometimes people with seat belts on still die in car accidents
And obesity is not really something that you can argue the public should just mind their business on because the problem is so widespread and the issues are so chronic it affects the health care system, raises everyone's insurance* and decreases the level of service available to everyone. Then you add on black people are affected the most from the complications of obesity, is this one of those things people are going be looking back 100yrs from now and wondering why this wasn't a bigger deal
Non-Hispanic Black adults (49.9%) had the highest age-adjusted prevalence of obesity
People who have overweight or obesity*, compared to those with healthy weight, are at increased risk for many serious diseases and health conditions. These include:1,2,3
