The NCAA basically tells colleges "let us pimp these kids the way WE WANT" and Cal has done what no other coach is willing to do, GIVE THE FREEDOM OF CHOICE. The NCAA still makes millions off of these freshmen, but brings up the "student athlete" "integrity of the game" bs. Cal tells them, come get a championship and go get your money. What's wrong with that? They should be paid otherwise, and no a biology major is not on the same level as a ball player, so it's asinine to compare the two when talking about monetary decisions.

Should they stay and develop their games? Maybe, but the infrastructure of the NCAA needs to be changed before we can put the blame on the athletes (workers).
Coach Cal is just the best option for the top athletes because they know he gets it, and play hard for him for that reason...

I tried to explain this the other day so many people are brainwashed they cant see how evil the ncaa is its ok for them to make a bunch of money off the athletes but when the athletes try and get money its wrong. I also argued that athletes deserve them millions they get considering the billions they bring in for these leagues.

People are mad because they can't do the same thing and still have a title contending team every year too. This seems to only work for Calipari cause he usually seems to get the right mixture of talent and most times they end up blending. Other coaches and fans get mad at that cause they expect a team of stars to clash and for things to get ugly. In all honesty most college programs wish they could pull of what he is doing.

On the real jokers are pissed because he is considered the knee grow whisperer for black blue Chip basketball players. They hate the fact that he only recruits them to be one and done. Then encourages them to leave and go to the pro. People feel that college athletes especially black ones should stay in school to either get better as a player to help professional leagues or stay to make the college rich (under the disguise that they are getting an education).

I am not a fan overall of John. But he is upfront with these kids and tells them I am here to get you ready for the pros. I mean on the real these Kat's are blue chip players they are going to Kentucky to become pros.

Part of the hate on one and dones, is that they've lowered the quality of college basketball... because none of them are staying long enough to actually develop/refine their games before jumping to the pro level, cause the money is calling.

im sure you can understand why college basketball enthusiasts would feel some kind of way about seeing countless 1 or 2 year mercenaries, there just to focus on their draft stock...not much else. Not becoming fully apart of the college lifestyle...just there cause they have to be, not cause they truly want to be.
Ima assume you a fan of going straight outta highschool then. That would keep the players who dont wanna be there out

The one and done does make it harder to actually get into and follow college basketball but that's the NBA and College basketball's fault by mandating one year of college.

College basketball folks wined and complained when players were going straight to the NBA from high school since they felt they weren't getting a "piece" of the pie so then they came up with the one and done.

Personally I still feel these players should be allowed to go pro from high school. It's their choice and their risk if it doesn't work out. Having someone play one year of college basketball when we ALL KNOW they're gone after one year is dumb. Let them choose. Then the players in college are there because they want to be and the players skilled enough and wanting to enter the NBA draft can. But college basketball was crying about that so now they need to deal with the one and dones. If a player can get drafted into the NBA why should he "have" to go to college. The NBA and the NBA are on that bullshyt.

No, im in favor of jumping from HS being an option.....but if you declare and don't get drafted, being able to go play college ball should also be an option.

But a system that was created to circumvent players from joining the NBA right out of HS, and forcing them to attend college is pure bullshyt.... it doesn't help college basketball, and at the same time... it hurts the NBA's product cause so many players sit or end up buried on a roster because they still have to learn how to play the game at a high level.
