Why do people in this day and age still get married?

tradition and I guess its the only way a man can secure that he is in his kids life fully. Other than that the mother can outright alienate you if she chose. Its the lesser of two evils.
Tradition. Precedence. Family Ties. Everyone else around them creating a pattern. Lastly, alot of people feel incomplete unless they're constantly reaching for higher status with their significant other. You're "falling behind" if you dont have a spouse, especially for women.
A single dude may get roasted every now and then but people low key understand, especially if you're an attractive dude with options. Then if you have a long term gf she's typically the one that has to answer for it.

Just because you don't doesn't mean others aren't into building a family.
Some people actually fall in love with a woman and want to create off spring with them and raise that off spring to be a good person. Yes, it's not easy but most things worth having aren't easy.

There is value in companionship and raising a family that is the core of it, the issue is people wander into it today like its a game where they have several trials and not as something to settle down and raise children
