never really understood the mentality of putting an animal in your house, and looking after it. unless its for logical reasons like security or mobility.
why do people put outside beasts indoors and call them pets?

I think cats and dogs should be outside, but I understand how people get attached to these animals. When they have birds and other animals that clearly belong outside, I think it's truly OD, I don't care if they're docile. The Louis Theroux documentary is on the extreme side of the pet ownership spectrum, but it is an interesting look.

So all of the mummified felines found in the tombs of the Pharaohs and Queens of the Nile were just random alley cats killed and thrown in there?
The Greeks took the housecat from Egypt back to the Mediterranean. You think a non-domesticated animal would have become a pet in an entirely different region of the world that quickly?
