Because in comparison to what we had, it is dead. Its not actually dead, plenty of artist poppin in in NYC right now. But compared to a near 20 year run we enjoyed, its dead.

Its a cycle. The next great NY artist is coming. It just takes time. He should be on his way though. Hip Hop feels incomplete right now because theres no really big NY rapper. Someones coming. I dont know who. But I think a great artist is on his way.
