Why do people think Phil Jackson was a Overrated Coach and that Pop was better?

I'm just like:gucci: at all this pop this pop that.

Besides the fact that Phil lakers are 4-1 against pop Spurs

From 2000-2010. The lakers won 5 rings, and we whooped the Spurs routinely to get there. Spurs have 3 rings during Phils time and only beat the lakers once with phill as a coach.

Phil took his teams to the finals 3 straight finals 4 times 1991-1993. 1996-1998. 2000-2002. 2008-2010. Pop got to two finals straight only in 2013/2014. He never even went back to back in wins. Phil could have had 4 three peats if the lakers beat the Celtics in 2008.

Phil has 3 3 peats with two separate teams and neither Jordan and Shaq won shyt till he got there. The bulls won only 2 years into Phil coaching.
When Jordan retired Phil bulls were still contenders.

The lakers? Phil won a ring his first season with them and again, he went to 3 straight finals with them twice
In fact, when Phil quit his job over whatever beef he had with kobe. The lakers didn't even make the offs. Phil came back and the lakers were in playoff team again although they ran into Steve Nash suns. Pau came and the rest of was history

Jackson took over a talented Lakers team and immediately produced results as he did in Chicago. In his first year in L.A., the Lakers went 67–15 during the regular season to top the league. Reaching the conference finals, they dispatched the Blazers in a tough seven-game series and then won the 2000 Finals beating the Indiana Pacers
Phil Jackson teams dominated the 90s and then the 2000s. 6 final appearances in the 90s and 7 in the 00s.
Even when Jordan retired, Phil bulls were still contenders.

Long story short, idk why this is has become a popular narritive. Pop is great. He's definitely doing better than Phil now and it's nothing wrong with personally liking pops coaching more than his, but fact for fact, he ain't even 1/5 of Phil. Phil resume is entirely too fukking long and his lakers sonned the Spurs head to head last decade.
Phil was hot ass with the Knicks, but lets be real not even Allah can save the Knicks organization.

Phil had all time great talents pass through his hands...

Phil is an ego manager(well in some cases) and a guy who can get teams over the hump...

he is not an X and O's guy or a guy for a young or rebuilding team

He is not a guy for a team with moderate talent

There was coaches for the Bulls/lakers before Phil though with those same talents. MJ was already a superstar, Shaq was a superstar who had already been to a finals. Kobe was hyped out of highschool. Why is it that Phil comes and these nikkas all 3 peat or atleast make the playoffs. That speaks for itself

Now I'm not saying that Phil can turn anything into Gold, he didn't do that in NY, but without him I wonder were the Bulls and lakers would be as far as history is concerned.

Philly bouls, Trust the Process
Phil's legacy has honestly been quickly tainted by his stint in NY honestly.

He deserves his praise as a coach though, he's as good as it gets and understood how to manage and mix talent and personalities better than anyone.

I do think Pop is better though. He can legitimately win with anything. Having Pop is like having another Superstar.
