Why Do People Think There's More Pressure On A 16-0 Team?

Once you're in the playoffs, it's one and done for every team. Every team faces the same on field pressure. There may be some more off the field pressure, but between the lines it's all the same.

I always shake my head when people say it's better to go 15-1 or 14-2 than go 16-0.

Cause it would be embarrassing if you lost in the playoffs after being 16-0 in the regular season.

Yet, when your in the playoffs, it's one and done for EVERY team. Every team is feeling the pressure to win. You win you move on......you lose, you go home.

Because you're the only team that has that to think about. When the games get tight, there's that added pressure to maintain a record.

It's not just one and done for the team that's 16-0 just the other teams. That 16-0 has to think about even more of a legacy and therefore added pressure to get on the record books. Even if they say they don't care :duck:

The pressure comes from the fact once you get in 14 or 15-0 territory youre now facing against history every week. Its all that is talked about in the media and your expectations have risen from having a really good season to possibly having the greatest team season in SPORTS history.

because only one team has ever done it (undefeated season and ring)

you can believe the game don't change... but it's a lot different playing when you're 0-16, trying whatever you can, not giving a fukk

and being 19-0, last game.. can't lose.. history on the line.. knees weak, arms is heavy

the pressure comes from the media.

its not a big deal, but they make it one.

Youre mistaken if u dont think players dont want to remeber as the undefeated champions once its all said and done. Why u think the 72 phins pop bottles every time an undefeated team loses? Its all they have after playing the game

at some point, it becomes more important to not lose than it is to win

but in a season of only 16-19 games i dont think this applies. more appropriate in high school and college where teams' streaks stretch out over more than 1 season
